Standard Terms and Conditions of Business:
MonkeyNose.com is the online trading website for Monkey Nose Limited, a Limited company in the United Kingdom, registration number 5580402.
Please read the following information carefully. If you use the website and purchase products, you hereby undertake and agree to the following terms and conditions:-
Making A Purchase
Browse our store and 'click' on photo images or 'Info' buttons to see an enlarged view of the product and a detailed description. Place items into your shopping basket using the 'Add to Cart' or 'Buy Now' buttons. Navigate around the shop using the menu buttons at the top and bottom of your screen, or the underlined text links, or the text 'breadcrumb' trail showing your position within the store.
Once you have made your selections, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for personal details that we need to complete your order. The process follows several stages and your payment authorisation will be handled via an SSL encrypted link to PayPal.
Photographic or digital images of products on this site are not actual size. We give product specifications whenever possible only to assist in product selection. Specifications and all descriptions of size, weight and dimensions are approximate and cannot be guaranteed.
Payment
We accept most credit and debit cards, and also payments via PayPal. If you are shopping from North America or the European Union, your credit card company will convert the transaction to your local currency. For customer security we may email and/or phone customers to confirm order details. Customers in the UK may also make payment to us by cheque, provided that they are in UK Pounds currency.
Order Confirmation
When you receive our confirmation of order, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we despatch your order and send a confirmation of despatch email. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
Despatch
Where possible we post all UK bound orders by First Class post. We may on occasion use an alternative method. This is dependant upon the size and weight of the item being sent.
All overseas orders are despatched by trackable methods and will require a signature on delivery. Currently shipping is free for items to a mainland UK delivery address, or £8 (GB Pounds Sterling) per order for an international delivery address. For international orders, we will advise you of the freight/shipping costs if they are over £8 (GB Pounds Sterling), and we reserve the right to contact you prior to despatching the order, and request the additional shipping costs. You may of course cancel your order at this time, should you wish to do so.
Export Delivery Terms
The Purchaser is the importer to their destination and is responsible for all taxes and/ or special duty payments on all products ordered on the MonkeyNose web site, from the United Kingdom. We may use our judgement in selecting the carrier for and manner of any shipment. In no event shall we be responsible for any incidental or consequential or indirect damages due to any delay in deliveries or customs. Shipments made outside the U.K. will be made per the Purchasers instructions. Consignments purchased by the purchaser for export outside the U.K. shall be F.O.B., our warehouse, Oxforshire, U.K.
Cancelling your order
If you wish to cancel your order: i. You can notify us by email to admin@monkeynose.com before we have despatched the goods to you, or where goods have been despatched to you, by returning the goods to us in accordance with (ii) below. ii. You can return the goods you have ordered from us within 30 days of posting date for a full refund or exchange in accordance with our Returns Policy.
Retain records
Customers are strongly advised to retain copies of all transaction details, electronic or printed, detailing credit card, debit card or other payment transactions, and relevant reference numbers, relating to orders placed on this web site.
Declining your order
Unless we have already notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled your order, we may refuse an order: (a) where goods are not available; (b) where we cannot obtain authorisation for your payment; (c) where goods are not suitable for export; (d) if there has been a pricing or product description error; or (e) if you do not meet any eligibility criteria set out in our terms and conditions
Delivery Schedule
We normally process all orders within 24 hours during normal business days:
UK orders are normally received within 3 to 5 business days of despatch. European orders are normally received within 5 to 7 business days of despatch.
Customers will be advised of any additional delay in despatching orders. Please allow extra time for public, bank and seasonal hoildays (Easter and Christmas especially). Saturday and Sunday are not normal business days.
Back Orders
If an ordered item is not in stock, we will automatically back order the item for you. Our stock monitoring system normally avoids this situation from arising. However, in the event that orders are allowed to be placed for an out of stock item, and where the stock delivery to us will take longer than 7 working days, we will email to advise you of availability and the option to place the item on back order if you wish to wait, or to cancel your order.
Returns Policy
If you are not satisfied with your purchase, for whatever reason, you may return it within 30 days of the posting date subject to the Return Conditions below. This guarantee does not however extend to earrings due to health and hygiene reasons.
In the rare event of your item being faulty or arriving damaged, you must inform us by email to returns@monkeynose.com within 10 days of item posting date (Return Conditions apply).
RETURN CONDITIONS
i. Contact us by email to obtain a Return Reference Number (RRN) ii. Return the item by recorded delivery in the original packaging and condition it was received, along with a cover note with our Return Reference Number. Customers will be required to arrange and pay for the return of the item(s). iii. Once the item has been returned in its original condition, we will offer an exchange if a replacement is available, or offer a refund of the purchase price. iv. Refunds will only be made against the original credit/debit card used for the purchase. Please note that we can only refund the original purchase price of the transaction, so we are unable to refund return postage costs.
The rights to return goods to us will not apply in all cases in the event that the product has been used. Our decision regarding condition of returned goods will be final.
Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at www.hmso.gov.uk
Our Liability
We will not be held liable for any losses resulting from your use or the inability to use our website or resulting from unauthorised access to, or alteration of your transmissions or data in circumstances that are beyond our control. We will not be responsible for loss of profits, wasted expenditure, corruption or destruction of data or any other loss which does not directly result from something we have done wrong. You will be responsible if you use this website in breach of these terms of use and will reimburse us for any loss that you cause to us as a result of your misuse. We make no promise that our website will be uninterrupted or entirely error free. Because of the nature of the Internet, the shopping online service is provided on an as is and as available basis. We are not responsible to you if we are unable to provide our Internet services for any reason beyond our control. We will not be held liable for any misuse of the products that we supply. We do not manufacture any products, and all products that we supply are as supplied to us by the manufacturer and/or wholesaler. Where instructions, usage guidance, age restrictions and/or warnings are given with products or on their packaging, we expect our customers to read and adhere to the warnings before using the product. We will not be held liable for any resulting injuries or events where the user has failed to follow the supplied instructions/warnings.

You may view, copy and print portions of our website for the sole purpose marketing products purchased from us. The materials on our website may not be used for any other purpose. We will use the information which you provide and the records of items you buy to constantly monitor and improve our service and for marketing purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy. All our customers’ transaction details remain confidential (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). Your e-mail address can be added to our mailing list, so from time to time we can contact you about other special offers that may be of interest.
